At the Mercer Global Investment Forum in Singapore in March, we discussed some key investment themes to consider over the course of this year and beyond. 2016 got off to a volatile start, and investors are finding it challenging to decide which way to turn. However, we believe investors should consider the following perspectives and use these as a framework for investment opportunities.
For instance, as the credit cycle appears to be maturing, we think investors should tilt their portfolios towards less beta-sensitive assets. They should also consider holding some “dry powder” as other opportunities, particularly in the opened-up distressed debt space.
